Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team who has a passion for our product and experience of FMCG and preferably of the drinks industry and who is a committed team player.

Responsible for assisting the company in developing the Luscombe brand across various marketing channels, trade, account and consumer customers. The Marketing Manager will implement marketing plans in line with the Marketing strategy.

Full Time role – 37.5 hours a week

Main duties and responsibilities

Brand & Market Insight

  • Manage the equity of the brand through brand tracking, competitor analysis, market intelligence, proposition and positioning development in order to ensure a ‘deep’ understanding of the brand health drivers over time.
  • Have a good understanding of Luscombe and its market position. Working with sales and online resources to gather market intelligence and communicate these insights across the business.

Brand Guardian

 Deliver standard brand inductions to be delivered to new employee

  • Provide external partners with brand presentations that enthuse and leave the audience inspired about the Luscombe brand.
  • Ensure use of the brand logo and assets consistently across the business.
  • Understand the brand communication guidelines and ensure all suppliers and customers adhere to these guidelines.

Trade Marketing

  • Management and implementation of the trade marketing plan supporting key sales channels throughout the year.
  • Support the sales team to ensure they are fully equipped with the marketing collateral and brand support they need to win accounts.
  • Management of all trade marketing channels including:
  • PR & management of Press releases, quotes & comments from publications;
  • POS – ensure sales are supported with appropriate POS material
  • Events
  • Advertising – plan and schedule appropriate advertising throughout the year – managing the budget of these ads and the placement

Partnership Development

  • Working in partnership with major retailers.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key points of contact
  • Managing and developing Marketing support activities

Account Management

  • Support for account customers from completion of tender to support for POS and brand marketing

Agency Management: 

  • Ongoing monthly management of all marketing agencies Creative, Digital, PR to deliver agreed plans
  • Monthly reporting of the agencies to really drive the brand value  from each of these relationships
  • Keep all work within the agreed retainers and to budget.
  • Maintain work stream and campaign priorities with the creative agency alongside the Communications Director.
  • Ensure agencies are integrated with a consistent tone of voice and agreed messages.

NPD/EPD Launch Support:

  • Manage market launch and activation of NPD projects. Working closely with the Head of Sales. Includes production of NPD/ EPD launch presentations and trade launch plans for the sales team
  • Develop and drive NPD/EPD within the business
  • Ensure timely updates to marketing/ sales team

Social Media: 

  • Oversee all Social media development to ensure it is in line with the Marketing Strategy

Event Management

  • Co-ordinating all events on a project management basis

Luscombe Drinks is a family run business, located in Buckfastleigh. We have been crafting award winning soft drinks since 1997 and now have a range of bubblies, juices and tonic waters.

We are now looking to add to our team in our heartland in the West Country. This is a field based role and you will have ownership of a wide range of customers from wholesalers and farm shops to bars and high end hotels.


  • Fully responsible for developing and managing new business in the West Country
  • Successfully manage a select number of 3rd Party Managed leisure/pub groups, local wholesale businesses, food led outlets & premium retail outlets
  • Management and ownership of account information including analysis and reporting
  • Negotiating contractual agreements
  • Manage and attend Customer Rara Days & trade shows
  • Effective communication with all stakeholders
  • Ownership of accounts and ability to make decisions, and holding in depth business reviews with customers


  • Solid sales or account management and new business development ideally within the drinks industry
  • Passionate about food and drink
  • Proven excellent commercial acumen
  • Complete understanding of the sales and business development process across a multi-faceted account portfolio
  • Commitment and motivation to achieve goals and exceed targets
  • Comfortable working in an autonomous environment and managing own schedule
  • Experience of working within a target driven and performance related environment
  • Good level of computer literacy across Microsoft Office programs and more
  • An interest in artisan products
