Gabriel David, founder of Luscombe.

‘Some people say that I’m rather fastidious – almost neurotic – when it comes to the quality of our drinks, ingredients and production techniques. Personally, I take that as a compliment.

‘I took over the cider business from my father in 1997 and, not being much of a drinker, we started making Ginger Beer, Elderflower and Sicilian Lemonade. Much of my time is spent working with our growers to establish when the fruit will be at its very best, so we can create our drinks at the perfect moment. A few days of sun or rain can make all the difference to the quality of the juice, so it just isn’t possible to work to set dates each year. Having a calendar would make our lives simpler, but we make drinks because we love them. That means doing whatever it takes to ensure the best goes into the bottle.’

Tim Dewing – Managing Director

Tim joined the Luscombe family 20 years ago, when he sold the business two tonnes of apples from his own orchard. This saw the start of his passion for the food and drink sector, and he’s developed Luscombe’s growth strategy almost every year since. Passionate about the extraordinary flavours the business bottles every season, Tim also has a love of water sports – you’ll find him paddle boarding or cruising in his classic river launch on the River Dart in his free time.

Leane Bramhall – Head of Marketing

A true foodie, Leane’s career has focused on food and drink from the start. A believer that ‘good food is even better shared’, she’s driven by her desire to spread the word of Luscombe’s deliciously natural taste. Leane is also a fan of the great outdoors, and all the sports on her doorstep. You’ll spot her all across the South West’s green spaces, running, rock climbing, cycling, horse riding, surfing, sailing, hiking and more…

Paul Nicholson – Operations Manager

After spending over 30 years travelling far and wide for exciting roles in the food and drink industry, Paul’s roots drew him back to the South West. Paul’s love of the coastlines, countryside and the region’s excellent food and drink sees him happily settled here for good. Outside the office, you’ll find Paul on the golf course or at the riverside, trying his luck at fly-fishing.

James Spreadbury, Head of Finance

Once a chartered accountant in Hampshire, James relocated to Devon four years ago to embrace a more laidback lifestyle. He jumped at the chance to be part of the Luscombe family. A sports fan, James is keen golfer with a handicap of 13 and a proud supporter of Southampton FC (sometimes against the odds…). His words to live by? ‘Make the best of this test and don’t ask why. It’s not a question, but a lesson learned in time…’
